Teejay Disses Valiant, DJ Mac During Sumfest Performance
Dancehall artist Teejay took aim at fellow entertainer Valiant and producer DJ Mac during his set at Reggae Sumfest inside Catherine Hall, St James, on Saturday morning.
“… Nuh bwoy cyaa box mi dung like DJ Mac. Mi nah stop seh dat! A Mobay mi foward from— di baddest place inna Jamaica,” the Up Top deejay declared.
The Montego Bay native did not hold his tongue when it came to expressing his feelings about Valiant. “Could somebody please warn s**k p**sy Valiant yuh nuh killa likkle bwoy yuh a copy man,” he said, adding that he does not take “disrespect” from people.
DJ Mac and Teejay had a falling out last Summer over the ownership of the highly successful Drift track. It was arguably the Dancehall hit of the year but Teejay alleged that DJ Mac did not significantly contribute to the making of the song.
On Saturday, the producer responded to Teejay on X (formerly Twitter). “ Yo uno get dis man a song fast plz 😂 him a lose it🤣,” he said in response to a clip of the statement.
He subsequently insinuated that Teejay is immature and close-minded using a previous recording of Alkaline.
Back in January, while Valiant and Teejay were feuding musically, Teejay told DancehallMag that their differences would only be expressed through their craft. It seems that he still does not care much for his compatriot.
Unfortunately, Valiant did not perform, though he was widely advertised as part of the promising lineup. An official reason has not been given.
Meanwhile, Teejay’s performance also featured a touching moment with his son Jaydon, who is featured on the track Star.
Teejay also shared his stage with rising Dancehall artist Nhance.
