El Benzo Gets Boost With ‘Science Project’ EP
US-based dancehall rapper El Benzo is pumped up about the response to his debut Science Project EP, which was released on June 28th via all digital download platforms.
“It was great to release a complete body of work and it is a new landmark in my career. The EP release also caused a spike in the streams for my previously released singles like Night Nurse, Pain and Rumours…even my IG jumped to over 16,000 followers,” an elated El Benzo said.
The seven-song Science Project EP features singles like My Intentions and Charter, tracks for which he recently released videos in consecutive weeks.
El Benzo, whose real name is Lorenzo Gayle, recently performed at a nightclub in Columbia, where he got a great ovation from the audience at the El Deck club in Medellin.
“They really love dancehall in Latin America, it was my first time in Medellin and it was a wild vibe in the club, I can’t wait to go back,” he said.
Born in the US, he grew up in New Jersey where he attended Bloomfield Tech. He returned to Jamaica during Summer holidays and fell in love with the island’s vibrant music and culture. After graduating high school, he attended trade school where he studied business management/entrepreneurship. However, music remained his first love.
El Benzo’s most popular single is Pain, featuring breakout dancehall artist N’Hance. The video has racked up over 65,000 views on YouTube.
