US-based independent label Empress Ann Records has a pair of new releases, including 300 Savage’s Quite Alive, a track that stands out for its compelling lyrics and distinctive style.

Produced by Nvtzz and Empress Ann Recordz, the grimy track inspired an official music video, brought to life by Xavie Productions, that captures the essence of the song with dynamic and powerful storytelling. The video has generated over 43,000 views since its release one month ago.

The label’s second hard-hitting release is Gothic’s hustler anthem ‘Panama’ which glorifies ‘chapping’ and stacking bricks. The club banger has racked up over 37,000 views in the weeks since its release. Since signing with the label, Gothic has undergone a remarkable transformation, with the label dropping two music videos for the young rhyme-slinger.

“These initial releases highlight the label’s commitment to nurturing and promoting fresh talent in the dancehall music scene, offering a platform for artists to showcase their unique styles and voices,” Ann ‘Empress Ann’ Brown, the chief executive officer of the label, said.

The Panama-born Brown, a multi-talented entrepreneur, is dedicated to uplifting and empowering artists in the dancehall music scene.

In April 2023, when she first visited Jamaica, she was blown away by the culture and the music. A year later, she returned and hosted a talent showcase at Elevate Nightclub and Lounge in Montego Bay, St James, with the intention to discover new talent.

From that talent showcase she decided to work with a number of talents.

“My passion for Jamaican music didn’t happen until I came to Jamaica. That was when I was introduced to the culture, the music, and the vibe,” she explained.

She has previous experience had a label operating in Atlanta called Local Talent Entertainment. Now she has transformed herself, she is ready to carve out her stake in the dancehall industry, by “changing lives through music” — which is the core of her label’s philosophy.

She now plans to release several compilation albums that will feature a diverse array of tracks from its roster of talented artists.

Born in Panama, she presently resides in the state of Washington, United States. She has had over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, where she steered her three children to success.

“My children are dancers, and I took them to Hollywood to do a six-week course with Debbie Allen. An agent signed my daughters, and we were in Hollywood for five years. They did billboards for Macy’s, T-Mobile, commercials and they’ve been on the back of buses. So I have been there with them every step of the way,” Empress Ann said.
