Dahvanka Hooks Up With Brithney Starr For ‘Real Man’

Emerging Dancehall artist Dahvanka has teamed up with the Belizean artist Brithney Starr for a new song called Real Man.

“The response has been wonderful, and the views are really picking up, especially in the Caribbean. They love the flavour and the chemistry between me and Brithney Starr, ” Dahvanka said.

The dancehall single was released on his own Late Night God Music label. He recently performed on a show in Belize, sharing the stage with Valiant and Shenseea. Dahvanka said he got a major ‘forward’ for the Real Man song alongside Brithney Starr. “The vibe on the Belizean show was so incredible. We are now planning to do a video for the project,” he said.

Dahvanka will be releasing an EP with nine songs this Summer featuring Real Man along with a raft of unreleased songs, which include Late Night God, Chap Chap, During the Flood, “Love the Marijuana,” and Universe Opened the Way.

“The fans are going to love the rhythms, a mix of dancehall, reggae, tracks-dancehall and island music… the production is top notch,” he said.

Hailing from Waterhouse, Kingston, he grew up in a large family with his mother, Sapphire, who is also a performer. His love for music was stoked by frequent trips to recording studios when he was a young child and family performances that encouraged his musical creativity and song-writing abilities.

He began performing covers of original Jamaican artists and his own songs in the early 2000s, adopting the name Dahvanka.

“My name is a form of self-imagery; as he defines his persona as a deep vibration that loves music, the root of the name is from Jah, which I converted to ‘Dah’ and the term ‘Vanka’ means grace favored by God,” he said.

Dahvanka is currently creating more music under the label Rock High Music Production, and his own Late Night God label.

“My number one goal is to feed the people with what the universe has given me,” he said.

He is known for songs such as “Bubble” and the calypso-flavoured “Big Bumpa.”
