Dancehall artist Tifa is engaged.

The Sweet So singjay shared the video clip of her surprise engagement with fans on social media on Tuesday, after recently revealing the face of her “emoji man” boyfriend

“I said yes!💍because the way you love me feels right to my soul❤️‍🩹,” her adoring caption started. “I said yes! @dyum_almighty because you fought for me & never gave up on me ❤️I LOVE YOU❤️ my emoji man.”

The husband-to-be, recording artist Kimani ‘Dyum’ West, is a reignited flame who took offense to her publicly saying there was no man who got away. So, he stepped up to the plate to woo his former love, and since they had remained friends, Tifa decided to give the relationship a second shot.

West showed that he truly meant business this time around, making his proposal a mere few weeks after Tifa started uploading content with his hidden face. The occasion saw him leading her into a candle-lit, rose-petaled room, with a “marry me” sign on the bed. Tifa, whose given name is Latifa Brown, joyously started screaming upon seeing the sign, and turned around to hug her man before he knelt on one knee and popped the question.

Tifa thanked her family who were all in on the surprise.

“To my sister @miizdellawella & @_leshaa_l you guys got me good😂😂 Look how unu plan with the man gainst me😂😂 Love you ❤️❤️.”

Congratulations poured in from industry peers including Alaine, Tami Chin Mitchell, Ce’Cile and Pamputtae, as well as fans.

This marks Tifa’s fourth engagement, playing on her own nickname “Lord of the rings”.

The Dash Out entertainer was last engaged in 2019, but never made it down the aisle.

“It just never work out,” she said last year. “The thing about it is, it came at a time in my life and my career which was a very toxic, tumultuous time.”

Back in 2017, Tifa announced that she was going to retire from music after a tough year which included a court case and personal trials. Despite the announcement, she rolled out her Curry Goat & Champagne debut album in 2018, and shared news of her engagement the following year. Tifa added that the accompaniments of fame and external influences contributed to their breakup.

Despite these experiences, she still voiced her desire to be in a serious relationship, and teased that there was one relationship she would revisit.

“I don’t want to settle for things that don’t make sense; mi a settle for the right thing. Mi just don’t feel like the right thing come. To be honest, there’s probably one (relationship) that I’d revisit…”

Tifa’s engagement adds to the commitment bug that’s been in the air this year, from Teejay’s proposal to his longtime spouse to Romeich Major locking it in with his ladylove.
