Sean Paul Earns 15th Gold-Certified Single In The UK
Sean Paul‘s hit I’m Still In Love With You, featuring Sasha, has just been certified Gold in the United Kingdom.
According to the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), the song was issued the Brit Certified Gold Award on Friday (October 25) after it sold over 400,000 units in the UK, as measured by The Official Charts Company.
Notably, this is Sean Paul’s 15th single to be certified Gold or higher in the UK.
Produced by Steely & Clevie and Murray Elias, I’m Still In Love With You was an interpolation of Alton Ellis’s 1967 song of the same name. It peaked at No. 14 on the US Hot 100 and No. 6 on the UK Singles Chart.
It appeared on Sean Paul’s 2002 album Dutty Rock, which won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album.
The song’s music video, currently over 509 million views on YouTube, was directed by Director X, known as Little X at the time. It captured the emotional pull between two former lovers set against a backdrop of Dancehall vibes. Dancer and choreographer Tanisha Scott memorably led the dance sequences.
