Vybz Kartel Proposes To Long-Time Girlfriend Sidem Öztürk

Gaza fans could soon be celebrating the nuptials of Vybz Kartel after he got down on one knee and proposed to his long-time girlfriend Sidem Öztürk, mere months after being released from jail.

The Fever deejay, 48, had been involved in a long-distance relationship with Sidem, a woman of Turkish descent who hails from London, for several years before his release from prison in August this year.

He shared an Instagram video of the proposal with his soon-to-be bride and his 3 million followers, even flashing the engagement ring for the camera.

In full chivalry mode, he got down on one knee as he surprised his beau in a hotel room. “It’s official… I proposed in prison, but I proposed in real life,” Kartel emoted in his IG post.

“You were there when I needed you most, and I’ll never leave you, baby. I cherish every visit, every phone call, and all the moments we spent talking, laughing, and even crying together.”

In closing, he professed his undying love, saying: “You’ve been my rock, my best friend, and my companion. I pray we stay together for as long as I live. I love you, baby.”

The couple first met in 2015 while Kartel was serving time following a murder conviction. The two have publicly displayed their commitment to each other, even launching their own YouTube channel, Kiss Me Baby.

The impending marriage will not be Kartel’s first rodeo in the nuptials department.

He first tied the knot in 2006 with New York bank supervisor, Stacy Elliott. They had a private ceremony before a marriage officer at the Registrar General Department branch on Trevennion Park Road in Cross Roads, Kingston.

Kartel got divorced two years later.

The artist shares three children with former common-law wife Tanesha ‘Shorty’ Johnson: his firstborn Jaheim Palmer, aka Likkle Vybz, Akheel Raheim Palmer, aka Likkle Addi, and Aiko Palmer, who is known as World Boss Jr.

His oldest daughter is Adi’Anna ‘Girl Boss’ Palmer, shared with entrepreneur Sherika Todd.

Kartel has three more kids with three other women.
