Lutan Fyah Leads Out The ‘Roots And Culture’ Tour In Europe In March
Known for his songs of liberation, unity, and Rastafarian philosophy, firebrand singjay Lutan Fyah is gearing up for a European tour that will see him visiting five European countries in a whirlwind jaunt across the continent that will further cement his legacy.
“I am looking forward to seeing my fans again as we embark on this great Roots and Culture tour, giving the people that spiritual food that they need at this time,” Lutan Fyah said.
The Roots and Culture tour will kick off in Berlin, Germany on March 1 before heading to Dortmund, and then Groningen, Amsterdam and Deventer in The Netherlands. Other stops include Lille, Rennes in France, and then Bilbao in Spain on March 16th. The tour snakes through regions of France before climaxing in Paris on March 27.
The touring party will then head across the English Channel to the United Kingdom for additional gigs.
Lutan Fyah will be accompanied by established reggae star Jah Mason and emerging reggae singer Zhayna and the Free People band on this jaunt across the continent.
The Roots and Culture tour is organized by Michel Jovanovic of European-based Mediacom and Free People Entertainment, led by its chief executive officer Cabel Stephenson. Other artistes on the tour include Jah Mason and emerging reggae singer Zhayna and the Free People band.
Lutan is anxious to get back in the marketplace to help fly the banner of reggae internationally.
“Last time I went to Europe was with the Max Romeo tour when an artiste (Queen Ifrica) cancelled and I went instead of her in 2023. Now I am looking to return once again to promote this album. All I know is that anywhere reggae is played in the world, Lutan Fyah is played there,” the man who was born Anthony Martin, said confidently.
Cabel Stephenson, the chief executive officer of Free People Entertainment, painted an analogy of reggae as a consumer product in the international marketplace to underscore how important it is to market the music in a strategic, sustainable manner.
“When you’re promoting a product, then you have to give that product as much exposure as possible and if any product get any hooked on any individual in a household, then of course, you have a scenario where 95 per cent of that household will take on to that product,” Stephenson said.
Stephenson believes that artiste should assign value to their brand of reggae music, by building a proper management structure, securing a competent booking agency and of course, touring to cultivate a fan base.
“It is important for an artiste to tour and expose themselves, the culture, the music, beat, the lyrics and the good feeling the way reggae resonates with them, and how the artiste says something to alleviate that pressure. when you tour you can develop a cult following and broaden your fan base out there, you can fill the club with your intimate fan base and the festivals will see you, and the music itself gets to retain and expand its fan base,” Stephenson said.
In the meantime, Lutan Fyah is looking forward to showcasing the tracks from his latest soon-to-be-released album, Strength and Resilience alongside his huge reggae anthems.
“Right now, we are releasing this album and I see the promoters are already pushing the European tour which is good. I know that the Europe tour will work and be a big success,” he said.
The 14 track album will be released on Mediacom/Utopia record labels before the tour kicks off in March. The Strength and Resilience album was produced by I Grade based in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands.
Lutan Fyah has cultivated a loyal fanbase internationally over the past two decades. The artiste’s most streamed song on Spotify is ‘Bossman’ which has racked up over 18.9 million streams. Other standout songs that have done well on the streaming platform are Bla Bla Bla (3.9 million streams), At Peace (4.69 million streams) and Let Me Be (3.1 million streams).
