D-Jahh Is Working Hard For Breakthrough

In the bustling corridors of the HEART Trust NTA in Falmouth, Trelawny, a young artist born Jaheem Davis, known in the music world as D-Jahh, is carving out his path to stardom. At just 20 years old, the singer, songwriter, and recording artist from Milk River, Clarendon, has already captured the attention of dancehall enthusiasts. His journey, however, is as compelling as the music he creates.

D-Jahh’s story is one of resilience, determination, and unwavering faith. After the tragic loss of his mother in 2013, Jaheem relocated to Stewart Town, Trelawny, in search of stability and new beginnings. Despite facing tremendous challenges, he refused to let adversity define his future. Today, as a Food & Beverage Captain Program student at the HEART Trust NTA in Falmouth, Jaheem balances his studies with entrepreneurial endeavors, selling chips and nuts to make ends meet. This daily hustle fuels his dreams, reinforcing the message of his debut single, Working Very Hard.

“ I have encountered many challenges and obstacles…..I currently attend the Heart Trust NTA Falmouth where I sell chips and nuts to stay afloat.  Selling chips and nuts at Heart Trust Falmouth to balance out myself, has definitely strengthened my motivation to get my music out there so I can show other youths in my circumstance…..that they are not defined by their circumstances,” D-Jahh reasoned.

“Two years ago I found myself homeless (not having any settled place of abode), as a result, I started writing songs expressing my struggles and taking great solace in music,” D-Jahh added. . His love for music has been constant since his childhood. Inspired by his mother’s encouragement and his own dream of becoming a recording artist, he began to refine his craft despite the odds. His breakthrough moment came in 2024 when he won first place in the Heart Trust Impact Talent Competition, securing the award for Best Song and DJ. The victory was more than a trophy; it was validation of his talent and perseverance.

Working Very Hard, reflects his personal journey. The track, which blends catchy dancehall rhythms with heartfelt lyrics, has resonated with new listeners who are becoming acquainted with this new talent. The song is an anthem for anyone striving to overcome life’s challenges, and its popularity is growing steadily on both traditional airwaves and social media platforms.
