Beenie Man and his fiancé Camille McIntosh have released a joint statement refuting allegations made by his daughter, Desha Davis, that the Dancehall star has abandoned her financially and is a ‘poor father’.

“It is with great disappointment and concern that we address the recent malicious attacks made by Desha Ravers, daughter of renowned reggae artist Beenie Man, against her father and his fiancée, Camille. The gravity of these unfounded accusations has left us both startled and deeply hurt, as they stem from a place of envy and betrayal,” the statement said.

Last year, the King Of The Dancehall artist announced his engagement to Camille, a British businesswoman, after two years of dating. During their relationship, Lee has played a pivotal role in helping to structure Beenie Man’s personal life and taking care of the deejay’s 13 children.

“The allegations of non-support are not true. Desha is 34 and she has lived with her father and Camille in the family home, she has been financially supported by both of us for years. Despite our efforts to provide her with a stable environment, her recent actions have been distressing and disheartening,” Camille said.

“I am hurt for her dad more than myself,” she said, her voice cracking with emotion. “Unfortunately, Desha’s recent behavior can be attributed to bitterness and jealousy when things do not go her way. “

“Beenie Man is currently processing the emotional turmoil caused by these allegations. As a father, he has always prioritized his children’s well-being, and this betrayal has left him feeling hurt, puzzled, and lost. We ask for the public’s understanding and respect for his need for time to heal and address this situation in a fatherly manner. This is a family issue, and we will handle it with the seriousness and privacy it deserves,” Camille said.

Speaking on Instagram Live a few days ago, Desha Gaye Davis had accused Beenie Man of not supporting her financially, and not purchasing cars for her and her siblings. The rift reportedly started over a ‘house-gift’ dispute. Davis claimed her father had promised her a space in his St. Andrew home but later withdrew the offer after she expressed interest in it.

“It’s so heartbreaking that it has to come to this, but obviously me and him, we nah go have no ties,” she said. “Because me feel like over the years mi go through so much and me endure so much and mi stay quiet and everybody feel like him a this good fada, and him always a take care of his pickney dem.”

Desha recalled him informing her that her section of the house under dispute would now be used for storage. During her diatribe, she even took a shot at Beenie Man declaring that ‘Vybz Kartel had bought cars for his children’ while her father had failed to do that for her siblings, including herself.

However, sources close to the Davis family revealed that Desha has been living with her father, Beenie Man, since 2022, enjoying a rent-free, bill-free existence for several years.

The Girls Dem Sugar deejay has allowed her to bring various boyfriends and girlfriends into the home, including her late boyfriend. Beenie Man has frequently given Desha a large sum of money, 5000 pound sterling for his grand-daughter’s immigration fees, and another $300,000 sum for rent, as recently as November last year, one source said.

“Whenever she sees him with cash; she always asks for more. He bought Desha a BMW, which she crashed and left unrepaired for years, despite receiving money from him to fix it. She often pressures him for new cars instead. If she has a rental she asks Beenie Man to buy gas,” the source said.

The source said that Beenie Man has been supportive of all five of his children who are currently enrolled in top tertiary institutions.

“Beenie Man often has his children at his stage shows including the youngest, including Desha, and they go on vacations together,” the source added.

However, Desha believes that ‘paying school fee” is not enough to qualify as a proper dad.

“Paying school fee is not being a father, and that is all you’ve done for your kids,” Desha declared in her IG live video.

To add fuel to the fire, Desha expressed gratitude to Beenie Man’s ex, former Dancehall Queen Carlene Smith—whom she affectionately referred to as ‘Mommy’ throughout the video—for supporting her through the difficult situation by allowing her to live in her home.

Desha Ravers has had a history of public dust-ups with her father and his romantic partners.

“This is a constant negative cycle with Desha. She did the same thing during Beenie’s previous relationship with Krystal (Tomlinson). Desha’s behavior has raised concerns about her mental health, and it is our belief that she requires support to navigate her challenges. Over the years, Beenie Man has provided her with numerous opportunities, including financial assistance for various projects and education, yet we have seen little ambition or accountability in return,” Camille concluded.
