Vybz Kartel On The Best Lessons Learnt From His Mother
Incarcerated Dancehall star Vybz Kartel recently recounted the two ‘most important’ lessons he learned from his dear mother.
After Kartel’s recent show of gratitude to his parents, the Dancehall King returned to Instagram in one of two Instagram posts over the weekend, and wrote “Me mada teach me nuff tings but two of the most important lessons were: 1. Never red eye fi people tings, you wi teef! 2. Never be a bellyaz, you wi poison!”
“Love You Mi Mada,” he added.
The Back to Life singer reshared the message to his timeline in another post and continued, “She say ‘Put some salt pon you tongue, drink some water pray and ga you bed’…unu know who is me?”
“Wul Out!” Kartel added, after recently completing ten years behind bars.
This may be newfound prison inspiration as he noted in his recent exclusive prison interview with Fox5 News reporter, Lisa Evers that he remains in a good place mentally. The post is definitely a tribute to his mother, who he paid tribute to in a 2018 single, Thank You Mama.
“She told me, “Son, stay out a badness” / Jail house no nice / I never listen to you / When I paid the price, I sacrifice / I said, “What’s the cost?” / Mommy said, No charge,” he deejayed in that song.
Meanwhile, the Born Fi Dis artist’s most recent release, Like Semper Fi, which incorporates the motto of every Marine – semper fidelis – translating to mean “always faithful” is a salacious ode to the faithfulness and bravery of his love interest.
Like Semper Fi currently has 150,000 views on YouTube.
