Dancehall star Lisa Hyper scored another legal victory this week when a judge dismissed her trespassing charges in a US court in Florida.

“The case was on the trial list for April 13th but the complainant did not appear for the case to be tried. The prosecutor offered no evidence and the case was dismissed. The judge informed my lawyer that there is no further case to answer the case and I was free of all charges,” Lisa Hyper said.

During her recent mental health episodes in the U.S, Lisa Hyper got into minor brushes with the law which led to the trespassing charges.

Since being released last month, Lisa Hyper has been in great spirits. She is working on new music including a new EP and she has launched a weekly event called ’21 Bad Gyal Fridays’ which is held at 21-23 Holburn Avenue, New Kingston every Friday.

Last week, a judge vacated a bench warrant issued in the singer’s disorderly conduct and indecent language case was called up in the Kingston and St. Andrew parish court. This charge stemmed from an incident that took place at the Norman Washington Manley airport where she was arrested and charged with assault.

The case was first mentioned on the February 25th but Lisa Hyper was unavoidably absent so a warrant had been issued for her arrest.

Defence attorney Petreta Gabbidon provided documentation as to the reason Miss Gooden did not appear on the previous court date to answer to the charges.

Lisa Hyper, formerly known as the ‘First Lady of Gaza’, has been a major figure in Vybz Kartel’s Portmore Empire. She is known for songs such as Amazing, Money Don’t Sleep, Sculpture and Nuh Frighten.

Her most recent songs include ‘Soul Cry’ where she addressed her mental health issues, and her brash collaboration, Altitude, featuring Shawn Storm.
