Jah Mason’s Son Gunned Down While Streaming Live On TikTok

The reggae music industry has been sent into a state of shock over the execution-style killing of the son of well-known reggae star Jah Mason.
The popular singer’s 25 year-old son, Jabari ‘Badda Skenng’ Johnson, was reportedly shot dead while he was conducting a social media live stream in the vicinity of a shop on Red Hills Road, yesterday.
The St Andrew North Police are probing the execution-style killing, but have no significant leads.
When contacted last night, Jah Mason confirmed that his son had been killed. The ‘My Princess Gone’ singer did not comment much on the incident because the memory of the murder was still raw and he was still processing the news with his family.
Reports are that Johnson was live on the social media platform TikTok, when he was approached by a hooded, masked male figure who shot Johnson in the back of his head. The murder took place in the vicinity of Queenie’s Snack Shop on Red Hills Road in St Andrew.
The left-handed man, decked in black, and wearing a mask, shot Johnson twice at close range, and after Johnson fell to the ground, riddled the body with several shots. Then the attacker escaped.
This is the fourth high profile murder of a popular TikTok figure in recent months.
Jamaican TikToker Marlon Samuels, known as “41 Busshead,” was tragically shot and killed in Montego Bay on December 20, 2024. Another high-profile murder was that of 23 year old Xavier “Niah Gang” Fogah who was gunned down on Panton Lane in St. Catherine on December 7, 2024, while he was on his platform.
In September 2024, social media blogger Keauno ‘Popsy’ Watson, 23, was murdered by armed assailants in Allman Town, Kingston while he was streaming live on TikTok.
